Animal Acupuncture Academy

                     What's in it for me?

...a discussion of the benefits of studying Animal Acupuncture.

Most of you who have arrived at this site will be very aware of what acupuncture has to offer to humans, both to the therapists and to the general public as well.

The general public are able to benefit from a system of medicine which has stood the test of time for thousands of years. It is a system that is cost-effective, reliable, non-invasive, ecologically planet-friendly, relatively painless, and compared with conventional western medicine, almost risk-free.

The therapist on the other hand has a means of addressing almost all of the complaints that plague mankind, and often has the ability to rectify problems where regular medicine has failed.

The acupuncturist also has the ability to practise true preventive medicine, by recognising imbalances before they are reflected in the patient as pathological processes and disease.

A good acupuncturist is a valued and sought-after member of the community and enjoys considerable community respect. It goes without saying that a good therapist will enjoy the financial rewards commensurate with his abilities and position.

So what can an Animal Acupuncturist aspire to?

The answer to this question is simple. All of the above and more.

To have the ability to successfully treat animals using acupuncture will mean different things to different people depending on their ideals, aspirations and dreams.

If you are a veterinarian and are tired of the same old antibiotics, anti-inflammatorys, anti-this and anti-that type of medicine, a knowledge of animal acupuncture will allow you to institute a pro-health, pro-vitality, and pro-life type of medicine into your dealings with animals.

If you are not a Vet and you just want the opportunity to treat your own animals with a non-invasive, drug-free, ecologically neutral form of medicine, then animal acupuncture might be what you need to study.

If you are a human acupuncturist, and are unsure how to translate your knowledge for the treatment of animal species, then one of our courses could be just what you need to get you up to speed.

If you are trapped in a job that you hate and are looking for a career change then this could well be what you are looking for.

Animal acupuncture is currently being successfully practised around the world by persons with no veterinary training, no human acupuncture training, and no tertiary training whatsoever. It must be borne in mind that acupuncture in both humans and animals pre-dates western medicine, science, universities and all of the technologies that we are familiar with. Acupuncture was originally a lay-persons technique which was handed down the millennia from teacher to student by the apprentice method.

Acupuncture is often made out to be a difficult subject to learn. However, be assured that acupuncture as we teach it is not a "hard" subject. It is much easier to learn (for most people) than is a foreign language.

What you will need is the desire to learn, and the self discipline to follow the course to its completion.
